I had a lot of fun tonight - teaching my classmates about Photo Story 3 and learning about Windows Moviemaker. I checked out everyone's photo stories on the Discussion Board and I have to tell you I was so impressed with not only the quality but the imagination and variety that were displayed! I really enjoyed all of them!
I'm looking forward to spending some time playing with Windows Moviemaker and getting comfortable with it. I think it can be fun, and another tool to help students express what they have learned.

Rubrics
I know that Prof. M-G said that we didn't have to blog for tonight's class, but I just wanted to say that I never realized how much work went into creating a rubric. Our group tried to be as specific as we could, but there is so much to think about! I'm hoping that it's one of those things that you can get better at with practice.
wikis in the classroom
I wasn't really comfortable with the idea of wikis - I wasn't familiar and didn't see how they would be useful. After seeing what was out there, I was very surprised at the number of teachers using wikis, not only for sharing ideas with each other but also using them in their classrooms. When I started my wiki, I had no idea what kind of things to put on it, but I'm starting to open up to the idea and actually getting some inspiration from some of my classmates' wikis. I have to say again that I appreciate being exposed to so many technologies that are new to me!

3 for the price of one!
I actually think that the idea of "stations" is great - it gives us an opportunity to explore three different topics in the same time period. As usual though, I really wanted to spend more time on some of the activities. I was so engrossed in looking at the multitude of wikis that I forgot to post one for our classwork and had to do it when I got home that evening. I also ran out of time at the end of the Sketchup activity and had to complete that at home after downloading the software. I understand that time is in short supply and I appreciate the fact that we are being exposed to so many different ideas, but it can be a little frustrating at times when you are trying to finish a task.
